Estudios Cambridge is very happy to announce our

III National Translation and Interpretation  symposium to be held in Manizales, Colombia on March 21 and 22, 2019.

 

A globalized world needs translation and interpretation professionals capable of rendering a reliable and efficient product in all fields of science, business, culture and human interaction.  Online work in these areas abound and it has become an excellent opportunity for language professionals to work from home and supplement or replace other language related jobs.

Estudios Cambridge is well known nationwide for its professional services in teacher training,  certified translation and conference simultaneous translation.  

 

 CALL FOR PRESENTATIONS

 

  

Proposals will be accepted for:

 

Plenaries - Team or individual proposals accepted on any of the topics of the Symposium. Sessions will run for 70 minutes allowing for more in-depth presentation and Q&A. 

 

Concurrent sessions -  Individual presentations accepted on any of the topics of the Symposium.  

 

Panel discussions -  All presenters are invited to participate in this panel with questions from the audience.

 

Presentation Rules:

 

Content – The Symposium seeks to educate its audience and inspire the adoption of effective translation and interpretation techniques.  Exhibit space is available for all promotional activity.  Presentation selections will be made by the academic committee based upon desired topics, flow of content, educational value and understanding of the content.  All selected content will be published in Symposium publications and online.

 

Agenda Schedule – Estudios Cambridge will set the day and time for each presentation, in order to optimize the sequencing and flow of content and tracks.  Sessions will end by 5:00 pm each day.  Estudios Cambridge  will notify all selected speakers by  February 15, 2015.

Speaker Benefits:  

 

Estudios Cambridge does not pay an honorarium or travel expenses to its speakers.  All speakers will receive the following: a complimentary pass to the Conference with access to the keynote session, all sessions, panels, and a special invitation to the Presenter´s welcome Dinner on March 21. Speakers will be featured in the Conference publication and on Estudios Cambridge web site: www.estudioscambridge.com. The above benefits do not extend to support staff or colleagues who may accompany the speaker.

ESTRATEGIAS PARA EL MANEJO DE SESIONES LARGAS Y ESPECIALIZADAS DE INTERPRETACION DE CONFERENCIAS:  Técnicas para desarrollar resistencia, manejo del estrés, preparación antes del evento, que hacer durante los turnos de interpretación, como escoger o trabajar con el compañero de cabina, manejo de equipos de apoyo, manejo de la voz.

 

ACTIVIDAD COGNITIVA DE INTERPRETES PROFESIONALES EN ACCIÓN:   Actividad cerebral, riesgos y beneficios de esta labor, como entrenar cada zona cerebral en actividad durante la interpretación profesional de conferencias, como crear conocimiento previo para el alivio de la presión de este trabajo.

 

LA TECNOLOGIA MODERNA DE LA TRADUCCIÓN E INTERPRETACION:   Software, apps, recursos técnicos para facilitar y acelerar el trabajo del traductor y el intérprete.

 

 THE ROLE OF TRANSLATION IN SECOND LANGUAGE LEARNING:   The neglect and taboo of translation in ELT, when to incorporate translation into ELT, concerns and possible solutions involving the use of L1.
